Music Pill Update: Summer 2016 Music

It’s a great time of year to be a music fan. Not only are we in the middle of festival season, but the airwaves are saturated with fantastic new music. In an effort to help you keep up with all the great music that’s being released, we’ve created a list of songs that we want to make sure you don’t miss. We touch on multiple genres below, and hope you’ll find something that you haven’t heard that you might love.

Music Pill Update – April 2014

A brutally cold winter in Indianapolis, coupled with limited music releases, had me shaking with the desire to dive into some music. Still nothing on the concert calendar, but there has been a lot of great music released as we inch closer to spring.

Now, I don’t fancy myself an album reviewer – people who review albums need to use phrases that have big words and sound official but don’t really actually mean anything. Actual example I read recently: “Each and every aspect of this record breathes with dynamic feeling.” Since I have no idea what that means (does anybody?), I’ve never really felt adequate to write official album reviews. Rather, I focus the blog on live shows and the experience that music gives me, because nobody can tell me I’m wrong. 🙂

BUT…..zero shows in months and a craving to write leaves me no choice. So….here’s a few notes on some albums that have surfaced recently. A couple major hits, a couple disappointments, and a couple in between. Enjoy!

Music Pill Update: October 2012

Greetings and Salutations!!!

Well, it’s been a really, REALLY long time since I’ve posted anything on this blog. My wife and I were blessed with our first child on July 20th, an awesome baby boy named Luke, who is already a rocker at heart. While it’s been one of the most amazing thing that’s ever happened to me, it has left little time for blogging. SO, my goal over the next few weeks is to get caught up and release some blogs about the shows I was able to sneak out to.

But first, I wanted to post about what’s been going on in the last few months, and what I’ve been listening to. There are several really good albums that are out that have been active at The Music Pill during midnight feedings and through headphones while walking Luke to sleep. 🙂

Hello all! Now that I’m finally caught up on concert blogs, I have a ton of exciting music news to pass along. I have been so busy lately that I have been going nuts trying to keep up with everything, so I’m excited to finally be getting this out.

I’m certainly not a news blog, so this isn’t an all inclusive list, but more a list of hand picked facts about bands that I really like and want to share. Included below are new albums and music, other interesting band news, and summer tours that have been announced. Check it out ! Music Pill Update: March 2012

Too….much….music. Can’t….keep….up….

Greetings and salutations from the Music Pill!! There is so much going on in music this month, I had to get this post out before March Madness started. There’s a ton of concerts going around, but I blogged about that last month, so I’m going to stick to music this month. Music Pill Update: February 2012

The beginning of the year is an exciting time, as bands begin to release their spring and early summer touring plans. The first 5 weeks of 2012 have been no different, as there are a ton of huge bands gearing up to hit the road in the next few months. Since live music is basically all I think about, I thought I’d share some of tours and festivals that I’m really excited about.

Music Pill Update: November 2011

Greeting and salutations. I love this time of year, when the leaves are changing and falling, the weather is cooling down (yes, I do like cold weather), and the holidays are just around the corner. In addition, this is also a great time of the year in music. As the summer concert season ends, bands who want to continue touring start booking winter tours at smaller venues. As much as I love outdoor festivals with huge crowds and big line-ups, the indoor venues typically add another dimension to a show that I really enjoy.

So what’s going on at The Music Pill? Well, lots. I originally intended on this being focused on both recent/upcoming concerts AND recent/upcoming albums that have been released, but there was just too much, so I had to focus in on just the concerts. Here’s an update for the month of November.

Hey all!

Taking this month off from concerts to regenerate some funds and let my foot heal. Don’t worry, I plan on hitting the concert circuit hard again in November with some really great shows coming up. But, I can’t stay away from the blog any longer without going crazy, soooo I thought I’d give an update about what’s going on at The Music Pill this month. Hope you enjoy!
