Hey all!

Taking this month off from concerts to regenerate some funds and let my foot heal.  Don’t worry, I plan on hitting the concert circuit hard again in November with some really great shows coming up.  But, I can’t stay away from the blog any longer without going crazy, soooo I thought I’d give an update about what’s going on at The Music Pill this month.  Hope you enjoy!

New Albums:
Some really good new albums have come out in the past few weeks, and I’m excited about all of them.

  • Blessthefall just released a killer album called Awakening last week, which so far I am really liking.  For those who like metalcore, I definitely suggest checking this album out.  Not Blessthefall’s best album, but a solid album cover to cover that will keep you interested.  My favorite songs are Bottomfeeder and Promised Ones.  If you like the album, do yourself a favor and go look at their album Witness, which is pretty legendary.
  • Five Finger Death Punch released their third album, American Capitalist, today.  I immediately bought it, and while I have only been through it once, so far I think it is fantastic.  They transitioned this album further from metal and closer to the hard rock genre, but found a way to do it without losing their brutal identity and the power of their sound.  The playing is really tight, and overall, its just excellent, with the only downfall that their lyrics are getting a bit cliche for me…..  Regardless, the album is great.  Can’t give you favorites – they are all good.  Listen to it cover to cover.
  • While I don’t often admit to being a big fan, I really enjoy Evanescence’s music.  Their new album also came out today, and that will be the next thing that I tackle.  Don’t really know what to expect from that album, but looking forward to finding out if Amy Lee still is a world class musician.
Upcoming Concerts:
There’s four great concerts in the Indianapolis area in November that I would love to hit up.  Realistically, if I hit up three I’ll be happy.  To start the month, I’m going to try to get my alternative on when  Foxy Shazam and Panic at the Disco play at Bogarts on Nov 6th.  Immediately after that, I’m looking forward to going to Between the Buried and Me at the Egyptian Room with some metal friends on the 8th.  A week later, I hope to be back to the Egyptian Room to see Mastodon play a show, and finally, at the very end of the month, Asking Alexandria, Black Veil Brides, and Hollywood Undead open for A7X in Ft. Wayne as part of the Buried Alive tour.  We all know that I cant be kept away from that show, even if it is on a week night.
Hope you enjoyed!! Look forward to more great concert reviews in the upcoming months.  In addition, I plan to write a bit more content like this, in addition to the concert reviews, so you all will have things to read more often.  Cheers!!
