Concert Review: Rock on the Range 2012 Day 1

Concert Review: Rock on the Range 2012 Day 1

Rock on the Range 2012
Columbus Crew Stadium – Columbus, OH
5/19-5/20

For the fourth year in a row, a big group of us headed to Columbus Ohio for Rock on the Range. For those that don’t know, ROTR is a two and a half day festival held each year that features over 40 bands, three stages, and averages about 70,000 in ticket sales for the weekend. This year’s lineup was as good as ever, and was true to the typical ROTR strategy of bringing in pretty much every type of band imaginable.

Music Pill Update: March 2012

Too….much….music. Can’t….keep….up….

Greetings and salutations from the Music Pill!! There is so much going on in music this month, I had to get this post out before March Madness started. There’s a ton of concerts going around, but I blogged about that last month, so I’m going to stick to music this month. Here are some great albums that either have just been released, or will be soon, that are worth your time.

If there’s albums that I didn’t mention here that are great, you are hereby obligated to let me know about them. 🙂 Cheers.

Concert Review: Halestorm

Now, going into this show, I can honestly say that it was my full intention to write a blog about Seether. I’ve seen them a few times previously, and they always put on a great show, but I haven’t seen them since I started writing this blog. Seeing has how I had just caught BFMV’s show the week before, I figured this was a perfect opportunity to write about Seether. However, when I made this assessment, Halestorm really never crossed my mind. I learned my lesson. Never, EVER, underestimate Lzzy Hale.

Mayday is usually a staple for my group of friends. It’s a festival type concert held at Verizon Wireless Music Center just north of Indianapolis. The local rock station, X103, puts this show on every year, and its usually a really good lineup. This year’s lineup boasted Bullet for my Valentine (who seems to be there every year, but hey, who’s complaining?) and Seether as co-headliners, along with Halestorm, Middle Class Rut, Ed Kowalczyk (from LIVE) and several local bands.
